I think it right to lose no time in acquainting Your Lordship that, with the concurrence of the Executive Council, I have consented to the application of the Treasurer, as conveyed in the enclosed letter, for an additional Clerk, subject to Your Lordship's pleasure, on the grounds stated by that Officer.
Both of Mr. Martin's previous Assistants were nominated at his desire, as well as Mr. Nicol, and I trust that the future regularity of the Public Accounts will be the result.
